Aluminum Rolling

This application includes companies that are engaged in flat rolling aluminum and aluminum alloy, such as sheet, plate, foil and continuous casting.

For rolled aluminum applications, coolant filtration is necessary. The hot rolling process typically uses a water-soluble coolant that requires continuous flatbed air-vacuum filtration to remove the fines to eliminate defects and staining of the sheet. The cold rolling process uses a kerosene-like based rolling oil which can be contaminated with fines and other oils, such as lube oils and hydraulic oils. Recovery by use of vacuum distillation removes these heavy hydrocarbon oils and greases from the oil. Fines are also removed with the bottom’s oils.
