Larry Haas to Retire from Filtertech After 37+ Years of Service

June 28, 2019

Filtertech congratulates longtime employee, Larry Hass, on his retirement.

In 1981, Larry began at Filtertech working as a welder / fabricator in the factory. He grew to take on the responsibilities of precision cutting and became the company’s first CNC operator at the steel “burn” table. About halfway through his 37 years with Filtertech, Larry was recruited into the Engineering Department as a CAD Operator and assisted in the generation of equipment and system drawings which led to his position in the Sales Department estimating and costing projects. It was Larry’s final role at Filtertech that drew upon the depth and breadth of his knowledge of the company’s filtration manufacturing, serving as Lead Inspector in the Quality Control Department, where he examined and evaluated equipment and systems during various phases of production.

On Friday, June 28th, 2019, management and the entire Filtertech team assembled at Corporate Headquarters for a farewell reception and presented Larry with a plaque honoring his tenure and recognizing his many accomplishments. Larry took a moment to address his fellow co-workers and shared some words of appreciation as he reflected on his 37+ years at Filtertech, offering a favorite quote of his in closing, “Look at life through the windshield, not the rear view mirror.”

"It is with mixed feelings that we bid Larry farewell, said Mr. Ahmad El-Hindi, Filtertech CEO. He has been a leading contributor to the company’s achievements, serving for 37 of our 50 years in business. We are happy that he will now have more time to devote to himself, his family and his interests. However, his departure means that Filtertech is not only losing a valued and loyal colleague, but also the expertise, skills, and experience that was instrumental in the company’s growth and success in the Industrial Filtration industry."

We all wish Larry the best in his well-deserved retirement and the next phase of his life.
